The soulful voice that brings morns first light
It sings goodbye to a bright setting moon
The sun slowly rises ending the night
A lake sits silent for the forlorn Loon
****
Enjoying the show that summer morn brings
I drift calm water that’s older than old
A second Loon joins; it’s his turn to sing
The concert of nature that touch’s my soul
****
My oars pull stronger as fog slowly lifts
The music around me edging me on
The concert that plays is the lakes true gift
That stays in my heart as time moves along
****
This concert of comfort brings words to mind
A favourite song begins to unfurl
Old sweet memories begin to unwind
“And
I think to myself
What a wonderful world.”

Oh yes! This is also a wonderful day! 😭🥰
Beautifully written, Gerald!
The cadence of your poem felt like the gentle ebb and flow of the ocean. Then it was nicely punctuated by leading us to a song just as serene and fluid.
This is so enchantingly comforting. I heard the loon in my mind. This is beautifully done and I really love how you ended it :)
This was so lovely :) I loved that last stanza especially, well done.
