That dream where teeth fall out

And it all seems so real

Ever had that horrible dream

Where all your teeth are falling out?

Or your dentist just keeps on yanking out

Teeth after beautiful white perfectly fine teeth

I have had that nightmare more than once

Just the other night, matter of fact

I went to sleep thinking of all the ice cream and cake

Left over from my something, something'th year party

Granted there was a lot more imbibing than there was

Any eating of cake and treats and food and such

So, being not in control of all my faculties

I plumb forgot to brush my teeth...Ugh, right

When time came for R.E.M. sleep, you know

Rapid Eye Movement. Dreaming became frantic

Bodily movements were sporadic I'm sure

The dentist came, chastised me for not brushing

And proceeded to extract and extract and extract

Oh my God, there are no teeth left in my head

I screamed and screamed, thrashed and thrashed

Relatives came running in all a-fright

With a great shaking and a waking me from my stupor

What is going on, are you ok? You are dreaming, wake up

To the mirror I ran, mouth opened

Expecting only gums in my early-ish years

Thank the stars!

The pearly whites, a little worse for wear

Are still there!
