social commentary
There's a rich history of poetry serving as social commentary, intended to inspire calls to action.
In search for the sun.
As I watch the night sky I drift in to bliss. The knowing of the unknown; grasping me as if i where it's last breath. The moon, a lantern lighting the path I so most travel towards. The darkness surrounds me although the moon guides my way to a new dawn. Walking, running, crawling. I do not stray. Seeing the gaze of the moon it instills hope for the upcoming brighter days. Yet as I get weary I feel that I can't go on. No. Stop. I've been on this road to long. Turn back now? it's a vast empty hole, but keep moving forward there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The moon as a flashlight in my darkest days. Oh how the unknown subsides with age. The rocky road has turned in to pavement. Smooth. I say thank you and good bye to the moon for the sun has took it's place....
