An ode to Mother Nature; poems that take their inspiration from the great outdoors.
The Wind
The wind called and I danced to the breeze of Fall; the Fall leaves danced to the wind as the sun began to set on my sunbaked skin. The chill of the wind climbed my spine like people who set hooks in mountains with arms like mine. The wind called and I pranced to the woods of wonder and beauty that was left behind, but with the freedom that could not hide to where I chose to reside. The river showed me my hearts design through the night to places never seen that was guided by the moonlight. I danced with butterflies that were carried by the wind which fluttered to the beat of my heart in a whim. The wind smelled of spice and heat that brought fire to what the wind could not defeat. I danced with the heat of the wind that felt sweet along a trail that was steep to an adventure I was ready to meet. The wind spun my body around in a dance as I held up my arms to give life a second chance. The outdoors was my home to be whatever I wanted to be until the clock rang and I sprang up from bed at three-thirty-three. The wind called and butterflies danced outside my window where all the adventure began.
