The HP
The first time my eyes gazed upon hers I knew there was something different about her – Icy, almost, yet when she smiled it was like she beamed it straight into my soul. I could speak to her without saying a thing and it felt like she saw every part of me the first time we met - put it this way, I didn’t need to tell her how many sugars I liked in my tea. Robed in blue representing her perfect intuition and femininity, she wore the cross better than any little black dress. Matching the projective creative force with the receptive element of water, she swam in the sea of the subconscious, although often blissfully unaware when she got out of her depths she would cut through water as if she had fins. Mystical and sparkling with the inherent ‘knowing’ in every cell of her body she was a guide and interpreter who I could call on for assistance, to her there was a beauty in the dark illusions of the moon which was to her like home, her power attained through the crystal and held in the red beneath her skin.

Independence
How does a mother teach her daughter independence? My mum decided to pack her things up, and leave. She was torn between two relationships, my dad and a work friend. Spoiler alert, she chose the work friend. He was the wrong choice, getting her involved in illicit substances and all. Months later, I had to go to court, dad went with me. Mum went with the defendant. The defendant in question was charged as guilty and sentenced to twenty eight days in prison. This defendant is the same previously mentioned 'work friend'. She moved to NSW Australia while I stayed with dad in Tasmania, Australia.

Presence
I wrote this poem after a deeply meditative experience I had that made me feel more connected to myself, the external world, and spiritual realm more than I ever had before which I wanted to share with you. I wanted to capture this moment so I could always remember that I have the ability to access these deeper parts of myself by being mindful and present. Although we all have the ability to lean into these transformative and spiritual states through meditation, they are deeply personal and unique experiences. Through this particular experience, I felt as though I were embodying an entire sunset, an entire forest, an entire sea. It was pure magic, and it was existing within me all along...

Orange
A cousin of yellow and gold. It's a very bold choice, for it's reputation. vitality and vibrancy stay standing. From a pumpkin to a carrot, it is the most vibrant colour that god ever did dare to create. Each orange sunset or sunrise light up the sky for miles and miles. It awakens the earth to new possibilities, a new day, a thousand choices to be made. All with a bright orange kick-start. America loves it so much they made a drink from it, the pumpkin spiced latte, oh boy did that work! The world loves orange, it adopted this colour for a reason. Embrace the true nature of its hopes and dreams. The angels ascend and descend to and from heaven upon each and every orange colour blast that tickles our souls. All this peace and contentment, its new, different. Indulge in change, for orange will never leave you.
