I Didn’t Watch The Ball Drop
We put our kid to bed at 9, and then, me and my wife followed shortly after instead of pushing ourselves like two adults watching their youth die slowly. Ordinarily I would make a huge thing about the new year. I think most years I needed it to be new. I wanted to believe so badly that we can get a fresh start or reset the beginning of every new year.

The end is near...
The end of the year is coming, and it is only fourteen hours away. For most of us, as the preparations come, it is a time of reflection. It is also a time for mixed emotions. We are glad we are living, aware and present at the moment to celebrate it. But we are aware that that is only a hope, a benefit we mere mortals enjoy because it can be withdrawn from us at any time. We remember those near us who aren't with us anymore.

Believe in Thee
Remember the times when we would yearn for certain things and beings to foster their being into our lives, where what we wanted was so far-fetched, dreams that we found so unfathomable to forge their breaths in our lives? It is wondrous and almost astonishing how existence in the most unimaginable ways, how we fathom that something we can never live without, life always turns out for the better when we let go of what no longer serves us, of what we can no longer control or any experience, person, entity or situation that we outgrow in our existential being.
