Do you feel/

/Yeah!/

/Like you’ve taken /something?

/Yes! Like acid, maybe, like a tab, like something /that

/Something that explains all this. Every corner something new /something

/Something different. Birthdays. Weddings/

/Americans/

/Americans! In this little pub! On this little day!

Outside there’s the cold. There’s work tomorrow.

Inside, the corner. You, laughing. A bottle of wine that cost ten pounds. It’s on /offer

/It’s on offer!

Shouting and dancing and living and work tomorrow.

An old man that plays the harmonica. It’s just/

/It’s just another night.

You would have loved it, I think. Maybe you’re back in London now. Maybe not.

A car and a crash and a whole lot of nothing after that.

Do you feel/

/Yeah!/

/Like you’ve taken something?
