Switch On

As we switch on, we

LOGIN and scroll through nothing, killing the time,

like or react, but with no interaction,

on social, but not social, with no satisfaction,

addiction keeps us there, the fear of missing, well….nothing,

we have something to say, believing we’ve read the truth, for it to be something,

is it real, or is it

FAKE news spreading like wildfire, the truth is nowhere to be found,

sifting through, cracking down on who we don’t know and don’t know us,

believing that this’ll change them, and then will support us.

A waste of time as it continues to divide,

it feels like we’re all losing our minds,

but we’re not because we know reality, because in our minds we know what’s real, or do we?

Fact checking as we keep clicking on

NOTIFICATIONS to remind us to publicly celebrate,

we cannot remember the date on our own, or can we?

Photos of food that we made, I guess it makes us happy.

Instant gratification, counting the likes, right? Feeling down when given nothing back,

that everyone must hate, but it’s just that, maybe they didn’t see it?

the get-rich-quick scheme to make a quick buck, so as not to become stale, you get on to

TIKTOK is the latest craze, if you’re under 20, you’ll be amazed,

the craze within the craze,

without realising, you become the most popular by freezing eggs and slicing.

This could be your job, you don’t need degrees, just creative ideas and aiming to please,

THE MASSES have the power to make or break you, but is it really the addiction that will kill you?

This is what we know to be real and will never change, it’s none of our fault, but who is to blame?
