The warning came in suddenly,
A harsh intrusion,
Advice to find a basement...
Should the worst happen.
A drought of ages ended in one fell swoop,
Thunder, downpours and a twister,
Destruction predicted,
Opposite to the destruction we already have.
The early evening sky darkened,
Foreboding,
Threatening to rip my world apart.
I braced for it,
The unknown,
The terror,
Evil skies unleashing fury on the unsuspecting
But oh so beautiful!
I long to come closer, to bask in your glory,
To witness,
To live in the moment.
The blazing shades of orange,
The dull grey just a head turn away,
Living poetry in the sky!
The embodiment of darkness and light,
I think I'll take my chances.
I trust the beauty of the gods.
I trust hopeful billows amid the darkness,
And I fell in love.
