A Mother I Never Knew

Mental Illness Can Be Cruel

By Misty RaePublished about a year ago 1 min read

Smile, your smile lit up every room you entered. A brilliant, bright beam.

It was something, someone I never knew,

Lightning in a bottle. Love, laughter and light. The voice of an angel

Everything I never was. Everything I never had. Carefree and sweet.

Nothing like the mere shell, the remnants I was left with. Silenced forever,

Crushed. A woman broken by the world's weight, the weight of her own mind,

Everything in me misses the mommy I never met.
