Starlight Star-bright

last star i see tonight

I wish I may

I wish and more

On this little star

I see at dawn

There is something special

There is something right

As the sun rises

brings back light

I feel it

in the morning breeze

I see it

in the silhouetted trees

Pink tinted gray sky’s

Majestic to my awakened eyes

A lyre bird sings

It calls to me

Her song a prayer

To my souls it speaks

No need for words

He knows she’s here

Her voice a guide

To quell his fears

In the place I stand each morn

I watch my star fade away with dawn

I saw it there

just hours before

A brilliant piece

Of ancient lore

A light in the dark

Just for me

A symbol of hope

In a infinite sea

On cosmic tapestry

Woven through time

Amoung the billions

I know it’s mine

The cool air cleansing

With each breath I take

The wish in my heart

My voice finally makes

As the angels

Color gray sky’s blue

The lyre now silent

I take my queue

Starlight, oh so bright

Even in the morning light

I wish I may

In love and light

Have him with me

Back home tonight

Like the lyre bird

Sings a map

Help me guide

My other half back

From the darkness

From the black

I know his path

Is his to travel alone

But I have already

Stepped on these stones

I am willing, I believe

In our fate, our destiny

My wish now spoken

I want to stay

But the sun is up

The squirrels play

Blue jays and cardinals

In the trees

It seems like a

sign just for me

So I turn to go

To start the day

I let the breeze

Carry my words away

love poems
