Welcome to our world, welcome to our land,
Come with me and take me by the hand,
Follow me deep below the ground
To where another world can be found;
The Son Doong Cave is its given name
And the rainforest within gives it its fame;
Trees as tall as buildings and giant stalagmites inside
Langurs, tigers, flying foxes—what else could this forest hide?
Three million years it has hidden
Its ancient secrets forbidden
To human’s interference and prying eyes.
Inside, time no longer flies
Frozen in that prehistoric state
Overgrown and free of technological hate
With lush vegetation and the brightest green
On any plants left to be seen
On this planet humans call Earth.
Can this paradise convince you of our worth?
Can it convince you to not destroy humanity?
Or will you destroy us faster to stop our calamity
And return the world to this perfection,
This primordial reflection?

Such a beautiful poem. The beauty of nature I think will exist long after we've destroyed ourselves 🤍
I really enjoyed this! I like the idea of showing the beauty to aliens to stop them :)
A great entry to the challenge Stephanie 👌🌈✨
