How We Lost the Time
And perhaps a way to find it

Impermanent ones did this
Made time a construct
then a commodity
Enshrined it in copyright
Carved district zones
Grades and delineations for trade
Commerce
Management purposes
Implied coercion long enough
translated to
Any exercise of inherent freedoms
warrants permission
Application pending approval
Motion became currency denominations we had to buy
alongside barcodes we had to glorify
in worship at productivity’s altar
Though Earth fashioned our bones
it was Spirit who seeded us
as gifts from the Everlasting and Ever True
Our return a law unbreakable
Thus contentment followed comfort
wrapped in new flesh
And in this innocence
they saw opportunity
Salivated over potential earnings
paid subscriptions and contracts in perpetuity
under legislation of such oppressive thickness
we could not breathe it
but somehow
adapted to survive
and in so doing
birthright fell from memory
We continued to clock in
for work
family
friends
nonprofits
but never ourselves
Conditioning complete
Conclusive
Foreign body inhalation
and aversion to any belief
that time
was ever free

COOL BLESSINGS
Hi Dani. This challenge challenges us to look inside ourselves and the system of our lives. Such true words here...reflection runs rampant.
