Solitude, my dearest Solitude
I opened my tired arms to you, welcomed your unspoken promise of peace and tranquility,
longed for your quiet embrace, believing that you, and you alone, could save me.
Easy. Easy, dear Solitude. How easy it was for you to fool me. Trapped, like a hamster in a cage, round and round and round I go on your nauseating wheel of deception.
No way to slow the whirling torment you’ve planted in my thoughts. No way to quell the
chaotic screams festering in the endless unheard. Oh, you wicked, wicked Solitude.
Eradicate yourself from the darkened hollows of my mind and set me free.

A cry for help, and something we see all to much of these days, with social media, the after-effects of Covid, and an epidemic of loneliness😞 “Eradicate yourself from the darkened hollows of my mind and set me free.” I like the refusal to back down from unkind thoughts, and the desire to break back 🙌🏽
The conflicting and nuanced perspectives progressed so seamlessly! Really well done, Cathy!
Go Cathy! That was freaking phenomenal! 🥰
Deep words wonderful poetry

Clever and poignant. Ugh, to be so trapped... the confliction!
THIS IS INCREDIBLE! It was an absolute masterpierce, start to finish! Definitely deserves to place Caty
Oooo, this was so dark and intense! I loved it!
"chaotic screams festering in the endless unheard" - loved this line! Loved that last one even better!
This has such beautiful imagery Cathy! Love it!
Nicely penned and I can relate, I'm the one who prefers to be on the other side of the PC.
introverts choose solitude and this is so relatable
This is beautifully sad and evokes so many images, Cathy!
Wonderfully penned, my dear friend :) All hail the Queen!
Oh that is an unexpected twist, Cathy, from friend to foe! The unquiet mind in the quietude is often too much to bear. Well done, beginning, middle and finale!
Beautiful! So relatable.
Wow. Love the last line. This is so relatable. Many people overthink especially when it's quiet. I hate it.
Oh this is fantastic. And just so TRUE.
Beautiful work, Cathy. Certainly can relate.
"chaotic screams festering in the endless unheard..." you pinned me with this line Cathy. Ripping at my old heart again.
