SOFT BLUE, SKY BLUE

The fabric of life

Tears on Blue

SOFT BLUE, SKY BLUE

My cloth was made in heaven

Of soft blue, sky blue silk

And I floated like a whisper

Round her lithe and lovely form

We went to summer parties

And we sat upon the grass

Beneath the soft blue, sky blue skies

And we blossomed in the sun

We were comfortable together

And strangers turned their heads

To her soft blue, sky blue eyes

And the colour of her dress

Then late one summer evening

By the soft blue, sky blue sea

He strolled into her life

And she cared for nothing more

For as she lay upon the sand

Closed her soft blue, sky blue eyes

He captured all her love

As his body crushed her dress

Now the jumble sale’s tomorrow

Where I’ll lay in wait and hope

For my soft blue, sky blue silk

Once more to be caressed
