Skyglow

Light Clutter

By Amos GladePublished 6 months ago 1 min read

I saw the lights and they did glow

City streets where we abode

I walked a path no one did know

Suburban blights were no less slow

Friday night shine and then explode

I saw the lights and they did glow

Illuminating my shadow

Each passing car my walk corrode

I walked a path no one did know

The city soon was far below

One light for another soon erode

I saw the lights and they did glow

To the edges of nowhere I did go

Many man would not have strode

I walked a path no one did know

In the sky the stars now show

Creating my path, my very own road

I saw the lights and they did glow

I walked a path no one did know

I like your little refrain. It felt like coming home. I could picture the image your poem painted. Well done.

Beautiful words, can see and feel it as I read

  • Excellent word and street and city lights hide so much from us, but that could be said of many things

My head said this poem in so many different ways: at first it was a sad poem, then it was a folk song, then it was like a poetic narration of someone's journey. Either way, I love this poem, haha!!
