Sippy Cup

false sweetness, a quiet corrupt

Sticky glass on the table.

Innocence lost.

Poured again, and again, endless.

Promises drowning at the bottom.

Your tongue forgets it's poison.

*

Cloth cleans the spill.

Underneath your smile, the pain doesn't fade.

People just call you an alcoholic instead of understanding.

Inspired by Melanie Martinez's song, "Sippy Cup".

Drinking is a strong addiction. Like your poem about it.

Interesting take on the addiction to alcohol as sometimes the addiction stems from childhood issues. Insightful piece.

  • But I don't understand it's connection to a sippy cup. So sorry 😅😅
