Hatred, racism, violence, and fear

You’re no longer welcome here.

You’ve ruined lives and families alike,

But now is the time to pick up the mic.

We must all stand up for what is right.

Please do not give up this noble fight.

Use your voices, signs, and actions.

Bring the change we need to nations.

Prove to those who hold the power

This has to end their oppressive hour.

We need to stand as a united society

To demand respect, acceptance, and equity

For all races, faiths, orientations, and genders

And require accountability for all offenders.

We can’t expect real change to just appear

We must push forward and persevere.

If everyone can finally come together,

We can drastically make our world better.

We are well overdue for change. It's really been a crapshoot day to day not knowing what's going to happen next. It feels like no one's safe. And that is such a shame to even have to think about. Loved the positive ending to your poem... If only.
