Silence

Of missing voices

Snow noiselessly falls, filling the sky with a deepening quiet

Ice, its artist unknown, etches a sparkling film over window panes

Laughter of children catching frozen flakes on tongues is no longer

Even now their memory rings in the stillness of the whitening world

Now I sit with tea in hand, basking in the warmth of yesteryear

Children, so noisy, so needy, so messy. We think we won't survive another day of their maelstrom.

Enjoy each minute of those busy days and every sleepless night. As, one day, all you'll have left is the silence they left behind.

Good work. Thank Jack Frost for the pictures you have to remember and the fun you had in doing all that. Pictures you will never forget and remember when things get to silent.

Dear Tina - As per your usual; you always get me thinking: Is Silence really 'Golden?' Poet 'Carlyle' once said, "Speech is Silver & Silence is Golden." And, of course, from our Gen you remember the much 'Covered' song "Silence is Golden" may not be too workable of late! Best~Bud j.in.l.a.
