Fall sighs with satisfaction

another season is done

Imagination

buzzes as winter’s-folly comes

There's a howl on the breeze

that transforms the landscape

Blowing leaves from the trees

and setting things in their places

A sense of applause rises

bringing change in the air

Winter's full of surprises

with her own sav wa faire

The wind whistles a tune

as the temperatures drop

Ashes flit to the ground

as the fire gently pops

There's a bite on the breeze

breathy gasps, welcome jack frost

Goosebumps hide under sleeves

shielding lovers, star-crossed

Saying their farewells in the moment

soothed by earth's melodious songs

The crickets and frogs join in

all of nature sings along

Then, at last, it arrives

on the edge of a raindrop

The blades of grass, silver lined

he groans, awakened from his nap

And it's come just like that

a beauty rare and abstract

His glacial fingertips snap

and his majesty is unpacked

The smell of earth is reborn

and the lovely sounds, as she slumbers

Leaves one quiet and forlorn

lost in this worlds awe and wonders
