Fate stares him straight in the eye

There’s no escape in sight…

not this time

not for him…

it does seem.

Frantic

he desperately darts away

as a splinter does fly

from a solid beam…

lost in the dust, dereliction, decay.

He must not cave in to despair

He clutches the precious key

To weather each desperate drought…

He will band together with those who care

No time to give in…

to flee

Stand and fight with all his might…

Never concede to doubt.

Angie this was so intense and honestly could be used as an opening scene or stanza to a book! Love what you did with Poppy's Prompt!!

Ahhh. That pesky fate, the soiler of hopes and dreams. Loved the poem, its hero sticking to her guns to the very end!

It is certainly hard to go with the flow when Death try to knock on your door. This definitely an eye opening poem 🤗
