Shopping List Picture

i wanted to paint a picture

in the corner of your mind

i wanted to put it behind that shopping list

that you wrote but could never find

i'd start it off with an acrylic base

on card or canvas i’m not sure

i’d delve deep into my future memories

so as to know and understand the score

my brush strokes would be appropriate

for every colour i would come to choose

my normally heavy hand would lightly dab

every colour i would eventually came to use

i would choose a simple yet ornate frame

to hold this work made of both you and i

nothing to blasé, tacky or garish

i'm gonna give this thing wings and see it fly

it may not be much but i did it to touch

the insides of both me and you

and touched what it has in so many ways

cause i know you feel it too
