Where Silence Learns to Breathe
Beneath the ribs of stone and sleeping clay
A gentle current hums in quiet veins
Roots whisper truths the mountains never say
While moss remembers all forgotten rains
Petals rehearse the language of the dawn
In hues too soft for time to dare to keep
The wind composes hymns the birds hum on
And shadows learn the posture of the deep
I wandered where the stars forgot their names
And noon wore midnight like a borrowed skin
Where light and longing played their subtle games
Unsure if loss or hope would dare to win
She stood between a moment and its end
A pause the universe forgot to mend
Her silence spoke in echoes unconfined
A mirror held to fractures in my mind
Within my chest, a relic stirred awake
A fossil heart unburied by her gaze
Each breath I took felt perilously fake
As truth unraveled years of practiced haze
Her presence bent the architecture of air
Gravity learned hesitation there
I rose like ash that dared to think of flame
Yet feared the cost of ever knowing her name
The first alignment of our drifting eyes
Unthreaded dreams I thought had turned to stone
Seasons collapsed—ten lifetimes passed me by
In one suspended second, overthrown
Leaves fell like letters written by regret
Spring learned to mourn before it learned to bloom
That instant carved itself in silhouette
A sacred wound that smelled faintly of perfume
We could outrun the horizon hand in hand
Yet still be pulled by what we cannot flee
Some paths are drawn by forces we don't stand
Some doors are locked with inward-facing keys
She lingered still whenever I would stray
A quiet flame that never asked to burn
I faltered where the light began to stay
Afraid of all the things I’d have to learn
It was a marvel laid upon my sight
A fracture kissed upon the soul’s control
A stolen spark from skies restrained by night
The hollow in her dark that made me whole
