Shattered

A nonet about an ending to a friendship, like a prized shattered teacup.

Friends' end cuts deeper than a lover

Like a shattered teacup, bleeding

on you for days, weeks of grief.

Should time mend the cup, I -

...know it'll break again.

I forgive you.

Will you be

Sparing

Me?

The authors ability to convey such a deep and heartfelt message in such a few words is truly remarkable. The symbolism of a shattered tea cup symbolising wounds and the broken state of the relationship. Bleeding, symbolising pain and suffering. Each line builds on the previous one to create a powerful impact! Wonderful!

  • Hopefully they forgive you as well. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❀️
