Stabbing wounds into flesh

The pain once again subsides

I reach out with bloody fingers

Begging for release from this

The voice laughs again

I feel another stab numbing my side

Stumbling to earth I cry out

No one to hear me, no one to care

I press into my wound, blood pouring

As I get up my hands caress the wall

Leaving bloody trails that go no where

I reach up for the door as my back gives out

My hands rips the knife from its place

Clanking to to the concrete I fall

The voice chuckles and screams

I see the dark figure rising up again

My hand rises as a shield

Ripping through air and dust

Lungs hold no more breath

Chest giving into defeat

Hands reaching, grabbing for life

Dark shadow pressing down hard

My last words know no meaning

"Without you...."

The world darkens into night

Pain of forever ceased

sad poetry
