Shadow of the Flame

Look into the Afterglow

By Amos GladePublished 4 months ago Updated 4 months ago 1 min read

Into the woods we went to build a fire

The starless sky revealed no ounce of light

A spark of flint was set upon our pyre

The flames appeared to make the sky ignite

To watch the blaze was quite a lovely sight

Strands of flame creating each new sha-dow

Trying to win an everlasting fight

We sit and watch with front seats to the show

The fire will die and so, we too must go

But wait and watch and you could maybe see

The figure left inside the afterglow

If light and dark combined to set you free

Unload yourself of all the heavy weight

It’s you who gets to choose your side of fate
