Shades of blue

emotional turmoil

By KodahPublished about a year ago 1 min read
Top Story - September 2024

A hopeless shade of blue, intertwining with the last vestiges of light, I find myself tangled in the web of memories, each thread a pulse of emotion, an ache, a whisper — the fate that serves the thread of life.

I traverse a landscape cluttered with remnants of what once was: emotions of sadness and fear fading at the edges — an expression etched in the fabric of my mind, the war of my mind.

There are moments where I stand at a cliff, teetering between despair and a fragile hope of being. I was reminded that grief could wear a thousand faces—sometimes it is the familiar weight of a loved one's absence, and other times it manifests as an insistent whisper of inadequacy.

~Pain can morph into an understanding~

I feel the alchemy of transformation, a recognizable mindset where turmoil is not an affliction, but a catalyst for growth. I become both a seeker and a sanctuary, I learn to navigate the terrain of uncertainty and release the sense of lostness.

I am both tempest and calm. I shouldn't need to pick a side. I am an overflow of emotions, searching for an anchor. That will ground me in the unpredictable sea of being. And I surrender, to the beautiful disarray — of being alive~

I love alchemy. The spells and changes of life interacting is countless in its manifestations. I love when someone takes a very normal word and makes it their own-"lostness"-love it.

This poem is haunted and haunting in equal measure; the notes of melancholy and chaos are neatly balanced by hints of integration and balance. Nicely done!
