Sensory Disassociation

all gone...

By BrenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

there's something wrong with my eyes

there's something wrong with me

i thought i closed them ten minutes ago

but the lights i still can see

there's something wrong with my ears

there's something wrong with me

i turned off every single source of noise

but the sounds still are haunting me

there's something wrong with my taste buds

there's something wrong with me

i just wolfed down a three course meal

and i'm completely savour free

there's something wrong with my fingers

there's something wrong with me

i cant discern anything that i touch

everything feels the same you see

there's something wrong with my nose

there's something wrong with me

my olfactory senses have gone awry

all smells it seems had to flee

Sometimes it’s better to not feel anything. Life is easier that way. But I don’t think it’s entirely possible. I wouldn’t be a writer if I didn’t feel anything. That’s for sure. It could spring a shapely song from this poem. I think you even invented a new poetic form, I’m not sure, I don’t know them all. Great job!

My sixth sense got chills. Ain't even know I had one of those.
