Selene Wept at Midnight

Poetry

Please note that while I end my poems with my real name, I do publish under my Selena Jade account!

Memories of a former life slowly appear.

A small spark, they glow dimly like an ember.

Things unknown we come to remember

Especially of the night when the moon shed her tears.

Figures sang a haunting dirge

As their mournful voices filled the night.

It was half past eleven we came into sight.

From our prison door, did we emerge.

Upon the gallows, our destiny awaited.

Step by step, little by little, we approached our final hour.

We drew down the moon and called on her power

As the crowd of mourning voices abated.

Selene wept at midnight

As we took to death's wings.
