Salt and Surrender

Lullaby for the Sunken

By Violetta AlexisPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

The ocean enveloped me in a cold, rhythmic embrace, a mother soothing her restless child. Waves lapped against my skin, a lullaby beneath a heavy sky of omens. Fear threaded itself between my ribs as something ancient toyed with my feet. A patient lover, whispering promises of an inveitable descent, slow and certain.
