Rose Tinted Eyes
Can’t see your own delusions
through your distorted view
with your rose tinted eyes
only you can despise
your own self image
The denial of your reflection
runs deep
the lack of respect you show
with the cutting words you speak
and no empathy in sight
you must be emotionally weak
Scarred for life you can’t see me
for who I truly am
you look straight through me
with those rose tinted eyes
Can’t see how you
offend those around you
with your disillusioned thoughts of reality
and your unrealistic demands
when confronted you take a defensive stand
Let go of the control
the dark deep secrets you keep
has sown what you reap
Passing the blame
the conversations go up in flames
as you watch me burn down to the ground
with your rose tinted eyes, only you can despise
I feel the hatred inside
I hide to keep from
losing my mind
how can someone be so blind?
Where is your humanity?
I have found my
inner peace and want
to keep my sanity
So I’m letting go
letting go of the hope
and the fantasy
that you will ever see me
clearly through your
rose tinted eyes
