Just A Dream

Broken

Just A Dream: Broken

A family gathering

Under the night sky

One by one

Each spoke their truth

But when it was your turn to speak

Everyone began to disperse

As usual

You're the ambiguous one

You turn away

As the rain falls on your face

Then a stranger steps in

For the first time

You are seen

For the first time

You are heard

But then you awake to realize

It was all just a dream

You have awoken

To the nightmare of your soul

Trapped inside this brokenness

In the mist of the storm

There you sit alone

No one wants to see

Your spirit slowly dying

Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes

You want to break free

The suffering you've endured

Facing Hell alone

Has left scars so deep they burn

So many words left unspoken

Have left us all broken
