Roman Empire
A jaded love poem

Our empire’s in ruins—
all is burned and lost
in verse.
My love language was words when
you stayed silent,
your need for service was
our curse. I failed to build
you up ‘cause
“I love you”
wasn’t
heard.

'I love you wasn't heard' WOW that line hit me! Excellently written!
What a great nonet! And excellent image pairing!
Oooo, I LOVE this one!! Love languages not being met and ignored. Wow, this was so good, my friend!!
It is a nice poem I have read.
Best of luck in the challenge!
Magnificent!!! Loved it!!!❤️❤️💕
Beautiful work, my friend.
Same as Dharr...that line. But really...I'm loving all these ancient, Biblical and historical pieces you're doing for the challenge - gives a greater sense of weight to the loss, to the pain...Well done, Gina!
"My love language was words when you stayed silent, your need for service was our curse. Gosh that hit me so hard! This was so poignantly beautiful!
A great take, I am avoiding these and will try not to post another (you know what I am like with short form stuff) , but I really liked this
