The Damsel dons her purple dress,
She flies with beauty and finesse,
Her wings a filagree delight,
In golden skies of dappled light.
*
Upon the Lotus leaves they land,
Before the evening makes its stand,
Mayflies burst from the river’s sand,
Too short the time, for love so grand.
*
Fish jump so high to reach their prize,
In the river kingdom, nothing dies,
As Ravens seek what others shun,
Cicada’s hum to nature’s drum
*
Her perfect sense of being free,
Can soothe a city slicker’s mind,
The river kingdom sets the scene
In peaceful days beyond the grind …
