Rest Now

Poetry by Jessica Karris

By Jessica KarrisPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Myself (Jessica) and my mom

You look so weak, yet stay so strong;

Fight and fight, so hard and so long.

You feel so low, yet you stand so tall;

More and more, with each waking call.

You are unaware, yet know I am there;

Watching over you, with just a stare.

we so very near, yet you’re so far away;

I really wish, you could stay.

Come now loved one, it’s time now to rest;

Relax and lay your, head upon my chest.

Rest now, rest until dawn;

For the worst has now, come and gone.

See it the way I see;

Let it be the way it was meant to be.

Come now loved one, relax and try best;

To lay your head down, it’s time now to rest.
