From night to night, and not a soul in sight.

A slight breeze brings the hair on my neck to rise;

And a bright moon shines a shadow of a lily below.

The river remains motionless,

So no sound is heard;

And reflects a lily’s beauty,

Like the song of a bird.

There’s a lily by the deep blue sea;

So fragile and precious as a flower can be.

It is so hard for me to ignore;

This memorable treasure that sits on the shore.

It is so pretty, and it’s color so fair;

That one little petal, that has a tear.

Like having some kind of spell;

How long you sat and stared, you couldn’t tell.

From day to day,

I find my lily by the water in the same way.
