"RAINBOWS & BUTTERFLIES"
"METAMORPHOSIS OF LIGHT"
I once was a girl
In this world
Who used to twirl
Around in circles of butterflies
And rainbows and twirls of free
as it was to be
In disguise of masks and makeup
And sighs
Of truth and lies
And blowup
Of disguises
Of realities of yesterday
And I do say
I am here today
Discovered I can be free
As a butterfly or to be
Free as a tree
Swaying in the wind
To send
Fragments of leaves and scents of Indian summer
across the way
to not be a bummer
but a clever elder
of truth does not lie
no mask in disguise
of a caterpillar of this elder
spreads her wings of beauty
of life
of metamorphosis into the blue
the rainbows of rain and thunder
splendor
of the silence of nature extender
of time of spaces
of laughter
of tears
in this time of year
this free spirit
is stationery now
you asked how
I tell you out of the blue
For you
For everyone to know
I am old
But still laugh
Still cry
Wonder why
You ignore me
Gossip about me
Lie about me
Then I remember you always said that
Years ago, to spat
Oh, I don’t like her only because you don’t like depth
Of dangling conversations of time and space

At 75 I have learned I have always been a deep thinker
Of Chantilly lace
And further my look into the depths of your soul
So bold
I am
Silence to be
Is to me
Golden
Of green trees and blue seas
Your narrow mindless of depth of judgmental brain cells
Could swell
My anger into spirals of fire
But I don’t care anymore
You go your way
On this day
As the trees sway this way
To the tune of this song
So not see you soon in this song
All along
I don’t care
I am in the light

Despite
Old friends who judge
Tell me I should if I could change my way
Not today love
Not today love
I am me
To be
A humanitarian of your dreams
Which in your judgmental brain
Is a weak scheme for you to be mean to me
To gossip
To spat rumors of time and space
While I still sit as a butterfly of metamorphosis in my Chantilly lace
I once was a girl
In this world
Who used to twirl
Around in circles of butterflies
And rainbows and twirls of free
as it was to be
In disguise of masks and makeup
And sighs
Of truth and lies
And blowup
Of disguises
Drinking my coffee
Eating my gummies
Not to be chummy
With people who judge and become a big lug
Of smashed cherries spewing out sour juices
Loose lips sink ships
This ship is not sinking
I am thinking
So, what is in your closet?

Metamorphosis is the light
Turned on
Out of my closet
Fancy and free
Scarlet red of gummy bears
Into their lairs
Of time and space
As I sit here in my Chantilly lace.

Wow! There's a lot there to decipher. I like the words - of course in your usual topic about being a strong independent female at age 75. Keep up the good work and stay strong.
Wonderful!
What a beautiful song, Vicki, I loved it!
