Rainbow

Poem by Mariah Kalungu

By Mariah KalunguPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

My eyes, shine multiple colors

I see yellow beams of sunlight signaling my new journey

The soft and subtly sweet fragrance from the lilies delight me

Burble! The river of five colors echoes my name

Boom! Boom!

The rain patters against the wacky white windows

The wind whirls across the valley rushing into the green fields

The blue skies thicken into grey

Stop! Stop! Stop!

I brushoff the singing of the old grumpy lady in heavy hazel coat

I put on my black silk suite

My red cap and my tiny tiny snow shoes

Ready for the journey ahead

I must get to the end of the Rainbow!
