So, it doesn't rhyme every line

Does that matter? No, rhyme

is still there in the poem above. This time

in this contest it is okay

people will vote and we will see

a rating of one, two, or three

that is what it takes to win

and humor usually has an in

prizes are fun to receive

it is not easy to deceive

the judges favor humor

and prefer no rumor

enter anyway I say

Today is the starting day!

Here are a few that came in this morning:

My Niece - by John Lindquist

Jessie Lou the monkey

Loves her two puppies

Would like to teach them to ride donkeys

She wears bandanas

And is always hiding bananas

~

The puppies start liking bananas

And now they are wearing bandanas

Spreading Intentions - by Jennifer Sawatzky

Frankincense and myrrh may be a little rue,

Making a potion that knows just what to do,

Say a few words whispered into the air,

Intentions set tight what matters there.

Light the candle let the flame hit the wick,

Clear your mind let the energy run thick…

Move your body to the sway,

Listen to the wind whisper “Hey”…

Hear the internal voices rise about and stir,

Then whisper whatever you wish to infer…

Positive intentions bring good and peace,

Negative vibes help spread destructive release.

Stay connected and consciously aware,

Rather than making wishes without a care.

Take a moment to think always take head,

When we create~remember we make what we seed.

Clerihew - by Carol Verant Arola

There was an old lady named Carol

She was married to old man Daryl

Carol loved to plant flower gardens

Daryl loved fishing after the lake hardens.
