Pitter-Patter Kitten-Mittens and the Jealousy of Man

By Rowan Finley Published 2 years ago 1 min read

Kitten paws pitter-patter back and forth, through the not-so-quiet-house.

Ripped paper rests on the floor in the kitchen.

Is the house falling apart…because everything needs fixing?

The doors are scarred senseless;

Cat hair rests, with a vengeance, on every surface.

Things look ratty,

the poor leather couch will never be the same.

They look cute until you realize their devious game.

It’s not the cats fault at all though,

because they are furry little angels.

They get all the snuggles in the world,

while I have to beg for mine.

How can people value animals more than people?

I may never understand why their furry-scurry-ways are elevated to such a high degree in the eyes of some.

    This is such a cheeky bittersweet! Maybe the world needs both: a little fur-fueled joy and more human hugs. Do you think people hide behind pets because it’s easier than being vulnerable with each other?

    As a cat person (more properly an animal person in general), yeah, they can be little menaces from a certain point of view lol

    Not a fan of cats? Hehe. Cute from a distance for me, too!
