My Personal Peppermint Story
I have always loved Peppermint or Spearmint, or any kinds of mint. I love menthol, and I love the smell, the taste and everything about it.
I got sick in 2020, and lost fifteen inches of my intestines, and I ended up with a colostomy.
I found I had problems eating, and I found comfort in none other than Peppermint Yogurt bars. They agreed with me, until I noticed how much fat they had in them, and then I switched to Chocolate Fudge Yogurt bars.
Then I noticed a different problem, my feet started to swell up and get puffy. I didn't think anything of it, until I couldn't find the Chocolate Fudge Yogurt Bars. I bought a box of the Peppermint Yogurt Bars,- ok I bought several boxes of them.
And Wala, my feet were no longer swelled. I googled it and this is what I found out.
1. Peppermint has been traditionally used as a blood thinner. Peppermint contains salicylic acid, which has anticoagulant properties that can help prevent blood clots.
2. Peppermint is considered a mild diuretic, and increases urine production. Peppermint contains menthol, which has been shown to stimulate the kidneys and promote fluid excretion.
I am on blood thinners so I have got to consult my doctor before I use anymore Peppermint,
Boy I'm Sure Going To Miss It
Do you think since it took the swelling down in my feet, should I eat the Peppermint yogurt bars in moderation until my nex doctors visit? Or do you think I should stop eating those yogurt bars completely until I speak to my doctor?

I know you like peppermint but is it good for you? Is it a blood thinner and should you eat it if you are on blood thinning medication. I think not.
The scent of peppermint can be rejuvenating! You may want to wait until you see your doctor again...
I'm allergic to mint!! Terrible allergy, but not the worst. The worst are pets - dogs and cats. Then beef is second! Coconut and mint are easily next, at third! I have had some swelling in my left foot for about a week now. Thank you for the info., Susan!💕💗 I say eat it moderately for now!
Good info here!!! Love peppermint too!!! ❤️❤️💕 Maybe give up eating the peppermint bars until you see your doctor.
I was raised on raw peppermint tea, and have always had a weakness for chocolate-mint ice cream. Dig in!
