Palm Sunday

Rejoicing in the King's Humility

By Quincy.VPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

On Palm Sunday, a donkey bore

A humble king, not rich in gold

But rich in love, and grace, and more

Than any treasure could behold.

The people cheered and laid down palms

Their voices raised in joyful song

But little did they know the qualms

That lay ahead, the pain and wrong.

For soon the cheers would turn to jeers

And cries of "crucify" would ring

The king would face his darkest fears

And suffer for our every sin.

But on this day we still rejoice

For through the pain and sacrifice

We know that death has lost its voice

And in Christ we have eternal life.

So let us lift our voices high

And sing hosannas to our King

For though he suffered and did die

He rose again, death's sting to bring.

*************

Dear reader, on this holy day, May these words fill your heart with joy And help you see the humble way Our King chose to bring peace and joy. Let us not forget the sacrifice He made for us, the pain he bore But let us also lift our eyes To see the hope that he restored. So as we lay our palms down low And sing hosannas to our Lord Let us remember the love we know And the eternal life he has stored. May this Palm Sunday bring you peace And fill your heart with hope and love For in Christ's death and resurrection, we seize The gift of grace from our God above.
