PaDiF Is Close To The End
Week three winners of a Poem a Day in February (PaDiF)
Last week our contest was for Haiku and Crab Canon. A few writers thought I meant that the contest winners would combine the two. I didn't mean that, but one was a winner in that category. So we had three categories and three winners with honorable mentions.
Most are aware that a Haiku is most often three lines with 5-7-5 syllables, and most often about nature or love. While a Crab Canon is lines written forward and then from the last line to the first, with different messages for most.
Crab canon is a format that is rather tough to master. I still don't feel I have truly captured the crab canon, as I have been going for two distinct messages in one poem. My poems are not included here as I give the prizes and they are my contests. I will submit some of mine at another time.
Anyway here are the winners with a few of the honorable mentions:
The winner for combined Haiku and Crab Canon is Carol Verant Arola, and honorable mentions are Carol Verant Arola, and Kathy Hron

Wonderful absolutely wonderful!!!
Wooohooooo congratulations to all the winners! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊
This was great fun, Denise E Lindquist! It was an honor to participate! Congratulations to all the winners! Mike Singleton - MikeyDred, you *always* produce amazing art. Comparing Lake Havasu with Paul Newman eyes, accompanied by that photograph, is striking. I love that analogy-- a lake conjuring up memories of everything from the Sting to Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid to Cool Hand Luke. I think that's brilliant, Kathy Hron. Everyone produced outstanding work. That crab canon by Jenny Wettersten is a freakin masterpiece! It blew my mind. That is an expert lesson right there on how to do a crab canon the right way! As for the *wrong* way? 🤷😂🤣⚡ I greatly appreciate the honorable mention for my silliness!!! Hopefully it provided a chuckle (NOT a craving for seafood.) ⚡💙⚡
Congratulations to the winners, the honorable mentions, and to all who attempted Denise's little challenge <3 I've enjoyed reading all your poems <3
I can see how picking the winners was hard to do. They are all great ones. Good job.
Thank you for the shout out and for all these wonderful words
I loved this , keep up the good work!
