Out With The Old
In With The New

*
Gently tucked nativities
Wrapping paper tossed and torn
Ornaments cling to the tree
As needles cascade to the floor
Lights flicker and flash
As the old season is ending
Stowaway and packed
Along with all our memories
Bellies full from the feast
Napping, sprawled on the couch
Surrendering to the beast
Another year, heading out
A new year edging in
Pushing the old one along
Another count down begins
Singing an auld lang syne song
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of old lang syne
Happy New Year!!
