One Size Fits None

Not for Everyone

Be yourself

Be unique

Is what we're told

Before we grow old

But we must also

Be someone else

Be normal

Fit in with the others

Don't stand out

Make the right choices

Don't take the wrong path

Uniformity

Not Authenticity

Go stand in line

Like a thoughtless sheep

There is no room

For imagination

For real dreams

Aren't cheap

Like the cotton on your back

Take pride in yourself

But never too much

Go far

But don't stray

From the traditional way

Stay true

Don't lie

Yet we do every day

Fake a smile

Fake a laugh

Pretend all is okay

What would we do

If we weren't told

How to live our lives

How to grow old

oooooo! Ouch, this hits hard for me... so relatable and such a great reminder that the only person whose opinion matters is our own!!

This was so thought-provoking and relatable—the push to “be yourself” while being pressured to conform.
