And once again, I find myself alone,

Behind this wall of glass and life so gone,

Could hope be the beacon that guides me home,

Driving my blind eye from night until dawn?

.

Expectation has caused my great demise,

For once upon a time, I was a man,

Great things achieved, I was immortalised,

Holding the world's progress within my hands.

.

In time, however, life caught up to me,

Jailing me within my suffering mind,

Killing what the future would never see,

Lest I could break away from life's great bind.

.

Maybe one day, you'll find me in this hole,

No more a man, no hope within my heart,

Only to see your eyes, I would be whole,

Providing my soul with another start.

.

Quickly I'll fall once more in love with you,

Reminding myself that I'm still a man,

So long I've dreamed that you'd be my rescue,

To once more clutch my heart within your hand.

.

Until that day, I'll find myself alone,

Vowing that my vacant mind is now dead,

Within it lies the ghost of past, enthroned,

Xeric to the hell within his head.

.

Yet, I have lived eternities of lives,

Zeroing in, I'll find one where you're mine.
