Once upon a time I wanted to be a Princess.

As a child my favourite or I should say comfort Disney Princess was Cinderella.

As I got older I realized that was because I was Cinderella,

I couldn't wait to grow up and become a princess,

Turns out I already was.

I just needed to figure out and find myself in order to become the Queen I am.

From a small age we are taught to get a good education than get a good career.

After establishing a career we are to get married have children and restart the cycle.

We are taught girls wear dresses and play with dolls.

Sit there, look pretty and don't speak unless spoken too.

Boys play sports and taught what society thinks what a "man" is,

This doesn't necessarily work because boys are often taught a false narritive of what a man is and what a woman should be.

Just like a girl is given a false narrative of what a man is and what a woman should be.

Just to find out that everything we were taught is wrong.

Mostly.

We are trained that this is the life we want,

In some cases yes but most of the time no.

We spend a lot of time wondering why we are not happy but why wouldn't you be?

Dream job, dream spouse, dream house, dream family but why not happy?

By the time we figure it out and that's not the life that was wanted for yourself, it's too late- You're 90 with 5 kids and living the same life for 70 years.

What if that's not the life I want for myself?

This isn't the life I want for myself.

I want to be free, I've been spending my time getting out of the cycle and creating my own Empire.

From a small age we should be taught to actually follow our dreams, live the life that we actually want to live.

I am saying fuck it to the social norms, reprogramming my brain and enjoying the life I actually want to live.

Even Cinderella got her Prince Charming at the end and became a Queen.

So, why can't you become the Queen of your life? What's stopping you?
