I can’t explain why

But we told ourselves a big lie

We told ourselves we had defeated fascism

But there was a schism

In the streets we shouted their defeat

But in private

We lie between their sheets

We took their scientists in

We listened to their lies

Because they comported with our own

We brought them in our home

After a while

They took the reigns to our brains

Gladios cutting off our nose to save our face

Mud between our toes

As we tip, tip, tip toed through the Third World

A plague hurled upon our world

Head my words now

Make this battle our last

Cast them back into the hell fire from which they were forged

Good job. True words and I liked how you laid it out. I think the word “head” is really meant to be “heed” my words.
