On The Edge

Somewhere In Between

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

as I stand in this moment

taking pause just to think

I remember my home and

bow my head to says thanks

for the love and the struggles

the triumphs and gains

bent knees and bruised knuckles

victories laced with pain

that brought me here, to this place

of reflection and musing

I wipe the tears from my face

and welcome the confusion

that one day will reveal

the prize to be awarded

a heart and soul made of steel

as my fears are all thwarted

until then, I will rest

wait for the courage that's needed

filling the pride in my chest

pulling the doubt that needs weeded

to prepare my next step

into the next phase of my journey

every moment has helped

to claim the life that waits for me

Nice words Kellie, "pulling the doubt that needs weeded to prepare my next step into the next phase of my journey" I guess we all have to do some weeding to get rid of thoughts that no longer have a place.

Beautiful poem, Kelli. Sometimes we all need to change the lens with which we are looking at our lives.
