When the world falls silent
the angels lean in
your song breaks through
like a ribbon of
gentle beauty
in the space between
asleep and awake
not in a dream
but in my subconscious
your inner being like
raindrops in a drought
innocence shimmers
against a midnight blue sky
the melody calls
my heart lies in repose
in a hammock strung between
my thoughts and emotions
a safe place of acceptance
where kindness and
understanding exist
in perfect harmony
waiting for my
soulmate to wrap
around me
in a hammock
made for two.
